Necessary qualifications

  • Firefighter 1 course certificate or equivalent.
  • Hazmat Awareness.
  • First Aid Level 3 and Medical Test NFPA 1582.

Preferred Experience

A year of relevant operational experience and a Code EB Driver’s Licence would put you in an advantageous position.

Job Duties and Role Summary

The selected Fire Fighter will be expected to:

  1. Efficiently carry out fire services and respond to fire and rescue incidents both inside and outside the jurisdiction.
  2. Perform related special services as required.
  3. Provide humanitarian services and respond to all emergency incidents.
  4. Ensure effective fire prevention strategies.
  5. Ensure all fire equipment inspections.

The role might also necessitate handling stressful situations. Therefore, dealing with phobias like claustrophobia and acrophobia is a must. Flexibility is another important trait for this role.
