Opportunity Awaits at Great Kei Local Municipality: X18 Life Guards

Our team is excited to announce a promising opportunity for aspiring life guards to join the ranks of Great Kei Local Municipality. Applications for 18 vacant positions are currently being received until 07 December 2023.

Details of the Offer

Successful recruits will be hired temporarily under the Division of Community Services. Serving from 15 December 2023 to 15 January 2024, life guards will be paid R250.00 per day.

Where You’ll Be Stationed

Great Kei Municipality beaches are renowned for their beauty and ambiance. If you qualify, you’ll get a chance to be a life guard at one of the following beaches: Kei Mouth, Morgans Bay, Haga- Haga, Chintsa East, Chintsa West, and Glen Eden.

Criteria for Application

  • Basic Lifeguard for pools or beaches;
  • Strong swimming capabilities;
  • Excellent concentration;
  • Effective communication skills;
  • Exceptional vision; and
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

Your Core Responsibilities

  1. Guarantee full safety and legislative of the municipal beaches;
  2. Ensure the protection of people’s lives at the beaches;
  3. Perform foot patrols along beaches;
  4. Implement first aid and rescue people in the beach territories;
