The Department of Health is inviting applications for X12 Nursing Assistant roles at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (CHBAH). The deadline for application submissions is 06 October 2023.

Position: Nursing Assistant Grade 1

Ref No: CHABH 707
Number of Posts: 12
Directorate: Medicine, Psychiatric and Out Patient Department

Salary: R157 761 per annum (plus benefits)
Location: Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (CHBAH)

Core Requirements:

Applicants must possess a qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant. Also, candidates must register with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant and show proof of current registration. One year of experience in medical or psychiatric wards is considered advantageous.

Skill Requirements

Candidates should demonstrate an elementary understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices. They should be able to perform elementary clinical nursing practices in line with the scope of practice and nursing standards. The candidates will be expected to promote quality of elementary nursing care as determined by the professional scope of practice.

Role Responsibilities

Assist patients with routine activities like bathing, dressing, and eating.
Provide elementary clinical nursing care.

Contribute to personal professional growth and uphold ethical standards.
