The Rand Refinery Apprenticeships 2024-2027

Rand Refinery is excited to announce their Apprenticeship Programme for the years 2024-2027. This program aims at grooming talented individuals who are interested in Instrumentation, Electrical , or . The comprehensive experience that comes with this program covers practical on-the-job training as well as relevant classroom instruction. This puts successful applicants on the path to gaining crucial expertise in a highly skilled occupation, giving them both theoretical knowledge and practical skills within the engineering field.

During the four-year duration of the program, a blend of institutional and practical on-the-job training will equip the apprentices with the necessary skills needed for their chosen trade. The program structure also avails an opportunity for apprentices to undergo the Trade Test, after which they receive a Trade Test upon successful completion.

  • Grade 12 completion with Mathematics and Science subjects
  • N2 qualification
  • Attach certified copies of ID, proof of qualification, and academic record
  • N2 qualification even if a higher qualification is possessed
  • Not permitted to do artisan duties until qualified
  • A qualified artisan will be assigned as a mentor as per merSETA requirements
  • MS office computer Literacy
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting procedures
  • Equipment operation and checklist completion skills
  • N2 Instrumentation related qualification which includes: Maths, Industrial Electronics, Instrumentation Trade Theory, Engineering Science
