Protea Mining Chemicals, a reputable company in South Africa, is seeking to hire an experienced Plant Operator. This job opening is permanent and based in the town of Wadeville, Gauteng.
About The Role
As a Plant Operator, you will perform specialized roles in the field of production. Your primary duties will include transferring intermediates physically and systemically, loading and off-loading stock, and other tasks such as:
- Batch loading, mixing, and numbering
- Batch bagging and completion of job cards
- Assisting with stock count duties
- Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures
- Carrying out equipment inspections
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate must have completed Grade 12/Matric and possess between 7 to 12 months of experience in Chemical Production.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operating Machine or Equipment: You will apart from operating complex equipment and machines, also adjust diverse variables to achieve optimal outcomes -both quality and productivity-wise-bound.
Scheduling and Allocation of Work: Assuming various duties in rotation improves team risk mitigation.
Environmental Health and Safety: Following a range of mandatory procedures and work methods (including the use of personal protection equipment where relevant), you play a role in safeguarding the environment and the wellbeing of yourself and others.
In addition, you are expected to:
- Operate a forklift and Overhead crane
- Perform basic administrative work such as filling checklists
- Maintain basic care of equipment and machinery at the place of work
- Follow work instructions and ensure daily bulk stock control
