We are excited to announce that the Department of Health is now accepting applications for a Permanent Laundry Worker position. All interested and eligible individuals are encouraged to apply before the 27th of October, 2023.

Permanent Laundry Worker Role at the Department of Health

The role is based in the Tshwane District Hospital’s Administrative and Project Management Department. The successful candidate will be rewarded with an annual salary of R125, 373 on a level 02 scale, and additional benefits.

Requirements for the Position

  • Abet/ Grade 10 education or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a hospital environment could be an added advantage
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work well in a team
  • Availability to work shifts when necessary

Duties of the Role

The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Distribution and collection of linen to wards
  • Sluicing of soiled and bloodied linen
  • Packing of dirty linen into laundry bags and loading for washing
  • Offloading and unpacking of clean linen bags from service provider
  • Willingness to work additional hours and overtime
  • Perform stock take on a quarterly basis
  • Willingness to carry out additional tasks as they arise
