Drakenstein Municipality Bursaries 2024: A Comprehensive Financial Aid Programme

In a bid to support gifted South African students aiming to pursue full-time studies in 2024, Drakenstein Municipality offers the Drakenstein Municipality Bursaries. This inclusive programme is designed to provide financial support to individuals from various backgrounds seeking to achieve academic qualifications. Candidates demonstrating exceptional academic prowess and possessing significant qualities as diligent students are strongly encouraged to apply for this opportunity.

Bursaries are offered in the following fields:

  1. Artisan Development Training: This includes training in Welding, Diesel Mechanics, Building Construction, Heavy Current, and Plumbing.
  2. Accredited Skills Programmes: The programmes include Grass cutting, Painting, Digger-loader, Hairdressing, and Welding.
  3. Administration and Services-Relevant Fields: For those passionate more about Sports Administration, Public Administration, Firefighting, Law Enforcement, Traffic Management, Human Resources, and Public Management.
  4. Engineering Fields: Exclusively tailored for students interested in Electro-Technical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
  5. Finance Fields: For the numbers wizards looking to make a career in Auditing, Accounting, and Financial Management.
  6. Planning, Environment and Development-Relevant Fields: Catering to students aiming at a career in Town and Regional Planning, Local Economic Development and Tourism, Environment, Architectural Technology, Solid Waste, and Water/Wastewater relevant fields.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria to ensure they qualify for the programme:

  • Must be between 18-35 years old
  • Must be a permanent resident of Drakenstein Municipality
  • Must plan to or already be studying full-time at an accredited Higher Education and Training Institution in South Africa
  • Must intend to study or already be studying one of the above-mentioned disciplines in 2024

Please note, the application deadline is Friday, 13 October 2023 at 15:00. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the committee latest by 31 January 2024. If you do not hear back by then, unfortunately, your application has not been successful.
