‘s Thapelo Madibeng Bursary 2024: A Financial Lifeline for Undergraduate and Postgraduate Students

(CETA) is an entity committed to propelling individuals forward by honing their abilities in infrastructural growth. In order to actualise this aspiration, CETA implements skill enhancement projects, apprenticeship schemes, and a gamut of training drills focussed on the construction workforce. Various reputable bodies such as SAQA, ETQA, and QCTO have vouched for the quality of CETA’s programmes. Being wholly compliant with the National Qualifications Frameworks (NQF), it is no surprise that CETA proves to be a game-changer in this arena.

In its endeavour to fulfil this pursuit, CETA is launching the Thapelo Madibeng Bursary 2024 for tertiary students experiencing financial limitations. This bursary scheme seeks to spot and foster bright young minds demonstrating stellar academic track records. CETA sees this initiative as a stepping stone towards raising future leaders and national path-breakers. A whopping 150 stand to be awarded under this programme.

Scope of the Bursary

Every bursary will cover expenses up to R120 000. This cost head encompasses:

  • Board and Lodgings
  • Educational Fees
  • Accommodation
  • Enrollment Fees
  • Course Materials
  • Incidental costs necessary for completing the qualification like fieldwork/research/methodology expenses (as per CETA’s discretion).

Pre-requisites for Application

All interested candidates need to fulfil the specifications listed below:

  • A Valid South African citizenship
  • Enrolment as a full-time student at an accredited governmental institution
  • An undergraduate or post-graduate student
  • Be 35 years old or younger (exclusively for undergraduate study bursary applicants)
  • Current Matric enlistment (2023) or Matric completion.

Note: The selection team will give special consideration to candidates from various Designated Groups in alignment with the CETA policy. These groups include unemployed students, academically meritorious students, students from rural or township areas, female students, students with disabilities, and military veterans, all aspiring to build a future in construction or related fields.
