About the Administrative Clerk Position

The job opening is for the position of ADMINISTRATIVE CLERK (REF NO: FMD/04/34/23/06) under the Financial Management Division. The role will be within the Chief Directorate: Finance Services, Directorate: Finance Support Services, and Finance ETD Centre. The successful applicant will be based in Pretoria and will earn R202 233 per year (Level 05).

Requirements for the Administrative Clerk Position

  1. A Grade 12 (NQF L4) certificate, ideally including Finance/Accounting subjects.
  2. It would be advantageous to have a Post Matric qualification in Finance/Accounting.
  3. A minimum of one year’s relevant experience.
  4. A valid RSA or Military driver’s license.

Additional skills sought include: computer literacy with competency in MS Office software packages, analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience in operating/utilising ETD processes in the DOD/Public sector/Private sector.

Duties You Will Be Responsible for as an Administrative Clerk

This role entails:

  • Executing general administrative duties to efficiently and effectively manage the education, training and development function for all personnel within the Financial Management Division (Fin Div).
  • Handling the internal registry office operations of the section, including receiving, registering, distributing, copying and filing of documentation.
  • Assisting in coordinating accommodation and transport for learners, handling course material and maintaining an attendance register, amongst other administrative tasks.
  • Capturing course attendance data and course results on the MILQUAL program on the PERSOL system.
  • Performing general administrative duties for the centre, which includes inventory management, budgeting, and procurement of various materials required by the centre for students.
