X16 General Assistant Vacancy Details at Alfred Nzo District Municipality

This position is an integral part of the Municipality’s team, operating in key performance areas. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Excavation and backfilling trenches using manual tools
• Laying pipes, along with laying and coating cement mixes and soil to fortify structure using handheld tools
• Cleaning and removal of blockages, debris, and alien vegetation from the drainage system and manholes using handheld tools
• Assisting the artisan plumber during marking of work area/site
• Receiving instructions from the artisan plumber to prepare the work site
• Completing any other duties as decided by the supervisor

Requirements

To be considered for this role, the following qualifications and skills are required:

• Grade 8 Or ABET Level 03/Higher or a relevant qualification
• Minimum of 06 months related experience in water and sewer reticulation/plumbing
• Ability to perform physical work
• Language proficiency in at least one of the four languages of Alfred Nzo District (English, Xhosa, Sesotho & Afrikaans)
