Remuneration Package

Qualifications and Requirements

  • The candidate must possess qualification that allows registration with the South African Pharmacy Councilas a Basic Pharmacist Assistant.
  • The potential Pharmacist Assistant must be currently registered with the South African pharmacy council and steeled with payment of the annual fee.
  • To deliver effective pharmaceutical services, the candidate should have superior communication and interpersonal skills along with solid knowledge of pharmaceutical processes, relevant legislation, and policies, and basic knowledge of drug supply management.

Duties

As a Pharmacist Assistant, you will be responsible for the appropriate management and inventory control of pharmaceutical items. This will include the orderly reception, storage, distribution and, monitoring of pharmaceutical products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) adhering to FEFO and FIFO principles. Your responsibilities will also include pre-packing of medicine, gathering information and assisting in the preparation of prescriptions, and maintaining thorough documentation.

Your roles will extend to providing advise and support to patients and other professionals on pharmaceutical matters. Additionally, you will be expected to assist in general housekeeping and administrative tasks in the pharmacy as specified by the Responsible Pharmacist or supervising pharmacist.
