  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Medical and physical fitness.
  • Valid Code B Driving License.
  • Ability to work in a team and handle stress.
  • No criminal record.
  • Must be a resident of Cape Town jurisdiction.

Selection Process

The selection process involves several steps including fitness tests, interviews, physical assessments, criminal checks, and drug tests. Additional medical evaluations and psychological evaluations may also be performed.

About the Role

The City aims to train 1,000 candidates for an 18-month full-time Learnership in Road Traffic Law Enforcement and Metro Police. The training provided by the Metro Police Academy starts on 1st December 2023 and ends on 31st May 2025. However, this training doesn’t guarantee employment after completion.
