Job Description
DescriptionRPO Recruitment’s client is currently seeking a talented and experienced Technical Metallurgist to join their team. As a Technical Metallurgist, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the metallurgical plant. This includes implementing and maintaining technical standards, conducting process optimization, and providing ongoing technical support to the production team. If you have a strong background in extractive metallurgy and are passionate about enhancing production efficiency and reducing costs, then this is the perfect opportunity for you to further your career.ResponsibilitiesAssist in ensuring that Safety, health and environment are complied with in the plantImplementation of the technical standards and procedures in the operationsEnsure that technical standards are met and maintained in the operationsAudit compliance to “specifications/parameters” and liaise with plant personnelIdentify ongoing potential areas for plant process improvementOngoing technical support to plant production team to achieve operational goalsProvide detailed analyses of process control/plant performance relationshipsCo-ordinate metal accounting, accuracy, reporting, and metal monitoringMonitor production performance metrics and analyse data to identify trends and opportunity for process optimization.Conduct research and analysis to identify areas of improvement in production processes and develop solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.Assist to ensure a stable and sustainable plant performance within the metallurgical plantRequirementsB Eng. Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering or similarPost graduate qualification will be advantageous5 years or more extensive post qualification experience in technical management of extractive metallurgy of gold processes or development projectsMetallurgical process and plant operating skills;Strong supervisory and leadership qualities;Strong technical problem-solving skills;Planning, coordination and prioritizing skills;Emergency response and crisis management;Computer literacy;Report writing skills;Good written and verbal communication to interact with stakeholdersExperience with metallurgical smelting of gold and AMD will be advantageousValid driving license code B or EBBenefitsSalary: R1.1Mil/yr – R1.3Mil/yr, salary negotiableFamily Leave (Maternity, Paternity)Training & Development RPO is a Specialist Recruitment Agency that provides candidates and clients with unique recruitment solutions tailored to their needs.
