KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for Specialised Officer, Safety The Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It’s a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometers west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometers west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.Play your part in our team succeeding…The safety Officer is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of the Safety managements system in the acid plant. The incumbent will also be required to effectively complete Inspections and Audits in Area of responsibility and report Findings to the Safety Superintendent I, ProductionYou will have the following:National Diploma in any of the SHE disciplines or equivalent (SHEQ/ Risk Management) or Engineering or Mining Fluency in French, Swahili and English (or at least two of the three) is highly advantageous 10 years relevant experience within a smelter production/engineering safety environment and minimum of 5 years in a managerial/supervisory position level. You will have advanced skills and knowledge in:In-depth working knowledge of all relevant Safety legislationA basic understanding of mining (surface and underground), engineering and process operationsKnowledge of work-related hazards and associated riskTechnical Skills should include:Global SHEQ standards Knowledge of plant and mining processesKnowledge of Construction ProcessKamoa standards and procedures Safety, health and environmental risk and opportunities SHE performance data and analysis Integrated Risk Management Relevant safety legislation (e.g. Mine Health and Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act or international equivalent) International Standards (ISO), i.e. ISO 45001, ISO9001, ISO14001Computer Literacy and presentation skillsRoot cause/fault tree analysis Incident Investigation (ICAM)Personal Competencies should include:Problem solvingInterpersonal maturity  InvestigationFacilitation and training Ability to influence , persuade and negotiate Reliable and self-motivated Detail and quality orientation Cultural sensitivity Customer Service orientation Verbal and Written Communication skills Report writing Conflict Management Drive and results orientation Rule orientationCommunication  Detail and quality orientation Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to: Audits and InspectionsConduct Audits and Inspections in your functional area of responsibility The finer details:When applying, please submit a PDF version of your CV together with certified copies (certification within a 3-month period) of your ID/passport, drivers licence and qualifications.Should you not hear from us within 30 days of the closing date please consider your application unsuccessful.
