KAMOA COPPER SA is looking for a Senior Superintendent I, Governance and ComplianceThe Kamoa Copper Mine, is a joint venture between Ivanhoe Mines (39.6%), Zijin Mining Group (39.6%), Crystal River Global Limited (0.8%) and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (20%). It’s a very large, near-surface, flat-lying, stratiform copper deposit with adjacent prospective exploration areas within the Central African Copperbelt, at approximately 25 kilometres west of the town of Kolwezi and about 270 kilometres west of the provincial capital of Lubumbashi.Play your part in our team succeeding…To manage and coordinate the Company’s Governance and Compliance function with a view to achieving a level of compliance in accordance with industry best practices. The incumbent coordinates the Company’s internal audit function, implements compliance risk management structures, strategies, and frameworks, and ensures good corporate governance, compliance, and a risk-aware workforce. This role provides independent oversight and mitigates the risk of potential compliance pitfalls by advising the Executive Committee, senior management, and employees at large. Additionally, it is tasked with developing internal controls and procedures that ensure compliance with exposure in areas such as non-discrimination and human resources, conflicts of interest or the prevention of fraud and whistleblowing.You will have the following: BSc / BA in law, finance, business administration or similar6 – 8 years in Governance/ Risk with 2 years in a senior / managerial roleIn-depth knowledge of the mining industry’s standards and regulationsYou will have advanced skills and knowledge in:Knowledge of rationale and concepts behind legislationAbility to articulate legislation for a wide audienceMS OfficeBusiness acumen partnered with a dedication to legality Key Responsibilities:Manage and coordinate KCSA’s Governance and Compliance functionGuide management and staff to prevent and mitigate compliance risks and drive company-wide risk awarenessPrepare and manage reporting and relevant documentationFunction as a Governance and Compliance subject matter expertBuild professional working relationships with stakeholders to enhance work delivery and collaborationThe finer details:When applying, please submit a PDF version of your CV together with certified copies (certification within a 3-month period) of your ID/passport, drivers licence and qualifications. Should you not hear from us within 30 days of the closing date please consider your application unsuccessful.
