An exciting opportunity exists for a SENIOR ACCOUNTANT- 4month FTC at SPITZ in Bryanston, Johannesburg. The purpose of the role is to assist with budgeting, forecasts, month end and year end reporting.Line Manager: Senior Financial ManagerMinimum Qualifications and Experience:Newly qualified Qualified CA (SA)Articles completed at one of the Big 4 Audit firms highly advantageousAdditional Requirements:Accounting Standards (IFRS)SAPKnowledge of financial processes and systems of internal controlMicrosoft ExcelJob Specification:Ensuring accurate and timeous financial reporting1. Prepare and process all month-end journals and ensure GL closes in specified timeReconcile Balance SheetEnsuring that expenses are allocated correctly, and are reallocated where necessaryEnsuring balances on Balance Sheet recons are accurately and timeously recorded, keeping in line with principles of IFRSDifferences/reconciling items are followed up, investigated and cleared, leaving minimal outstanding itemsPrepare the income tax calculation (provisional and annual) per AVI template and in accordance with Tax Act2. Prepare accurate and timeous financial reporting to AVI (Day 4 Early Estimate, Day 8 Monthly Pack, Budget, Forecast, and year-end additional reporting)Ensure all reporting to AVI is accurate and complete and submitted timeously per the AVI3. Prepare and submit statutory obligations and External reports: Vat Return (Monthly), Stats SA (Monthly/Quarterly), Tax Annual ReturnEnsure the VAT and Annual Income returns are submitted accurately and timeously within the rules as defined by SARSAvoid interest andEnsure we deliver as required by StatsSA Turnover reporting as defined by the required format set out by StatsSAEnsured we comply with legislated requirements from government departments4. Confirm validity and accuracy of local and foreign payments and release thereofReview the accuracy and validity of payments before release. Ensure released before Bank cut-off times5. External AuditAssist with external audit requests and resolve any issues/findings timeously in order to improve our internal control environment6. Ad Hoc Projects- Finance related
