Job Description

Job Title: RPAS Coordinator – Mining Industry – North WestLocation: North West, South AfricaJob Type: Full-time, PermanentRPO Recruitment’s client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) Coordinator to join their team in the mining industry in the North West region of South Africa. As an RPAS Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the safe and efficient operation of RPAS technology within our mining operations.Responsibilities:Organise, plan and execute UAS flights for surveying, monitoring and mapping purposes across the Surface Right areas, including pre and post checking, ground control and processing, ensuring adherence to all mine procedures and legal requirements.Supervise the collection of data via drones and collaborate with relevant departments for the analysis and interpretation of gathered information.Collate UAS related information from all stakeholders and submit to superior as updates regarding aerial surveys, processing, georeferencing and the ortho-mosaic, ensuring governance documentation is maintained.Manage scheduled and ad hoc aerial surveys, volume measurements and mining certificates, using UAS equipment, to supervise the collection of relevant data across TM Surface Right areas, including open pits.Conduct daily safety meetings with subordinates and risk assessments prior to any survey work being conducted, to identify and report any substandard conditions.Identify and report on unauthorised usage of surface areas, to ensure adherence to all mine standards procedures and legal requirements.Qualifications:Chamber of Mines Advanced Certificate in Surveying (NQF6)/National Diploma (NQF6) in SurveyingBTech Degree (NQF7) is preferredDriving LicenceRemote Pilot LicenseMinimum of 4 years of experience working with RPAS technology in the mining industry.Strong knowledge of relevant mining regulations and safety requirements.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Benefits:Salary: NegotiableFamily Leave (Maternity, Paternity)Paid Time Off (PTO) (if applicable) If you meet the above requirements and want to make a career-changing move, apply today by either filling in the online application form or emailing your CV to RPO Recruitment at [email protected]Alternatively, you are also welcome to contact Anzaan Kennedy on LinkedIn or call her on 021 180 0776.Please note that correspondence will only be conducted with shortlisted candidates for this position.
