Job Description

Job Summary: Sets standards for CHG nursing services at the group level, including ensuring compliance with relevant external regulatory bodies. At the hospital level, performs and ensures the patient’s mental, physical, and emotional health is maintained by performing tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting with the patient’s daily living and hygiene needs, including bathing, dressing, and feeding. May also assist with housekeeping to ensure the patient remains in safe and quality conditions. Manages patient records by participating in follow-up activities, tracking clients, scheduling appointments, and performing other related tasks such as printing, copying, and filing patient records.Minimum Qualifications and Experience: Grade 12.Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.Theatre trained with 2 years experience essential.Experience within a private hospital environment is advantageous.Minimum Duties:Act as a shift coordinator and actively participate as a team member to achieve goals.Responsible for the delivery and coordination of competent nursing care and support group quality improvement initiatives that apply to the theatre and participate in the process of improvement interventions.Supports and supervises less experienced staff, acts as a preceptor for new staff, and assists learners’ clinical teaching.Create an environment that stimulates employees’ morale and productivity and drives employee engagement.Act as a resource in the clinical speciality due to advanced and broad knowledge and skills.Orientate new staff and students to ensure a detailed understanding of the Theatre environment.Allocate staff members in a manner that promotes optimal use of staff to provide appropriate skills as required for the booked procedures. In collaboration with the Unit Manager, support adjusting staff levels according to theatre utilisation and needs.Foster good interpersonal and public relations while interpreting/ applying the philosophy, goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
