INTRODUCTIONGrain Field Chickens, a subsidiary of VKB Agriculture (PTY)Ltd, is a dynamic role player in the integrated broiler industry with an abattoir in Reitz in the North Eastern Free State. We offer you the opportunity to establish yourself within a professional, corporate environment in the countryside.JOB DECRIPTION The successful incumbent will have to maintain Municipality infrastructure and Grain Field Chickens equipment, by installing or dismantling machinery and equipment according to company plans, blueprints, and other diagrams. This position also requires that the Millwright troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic problems. The Millwright is also responsible for repairing equipment such as motors, pumps, valves, controls and other machines.JOB REQUIREMENTSGrade 12/NQF4.Valid Millwright Trade Certificate (essential).Wireman’s license will be advantageous.N3 Electrical Qualification.Knowledge of transformers 11Kv to 400V.Strong knowledge of pumps.Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Millwright.Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the FMCG environment.Experience working on generators.Code B driver’s license.Good understanding of the OHS Act.OTHER REQUIREMENTS 24/7 standby availability may be required.Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.Travel to off-site locations including municipality sites and farms may be required.Manual dexterity required to use power and hand tools.Frequently noisy working environment.Hazards associated with the trade.Work both indoors and outdoors.Must be able to work in temperatures of -25 degrees.Must be able to work on his own.Good communication skills.Must be prepared to work shifts and on weekends.JOB DESCRIPTIONRead and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to equipment and machinery.Dismantle equipment when required for repair or transportation and reassemble it at the appropriate time.Move equipment to appropriate site for repair or maintenance to avoid contamination or workplace safety hazards.Create solid foundations for machines on-site and instruct other abattoir and/ or Municipality workers about safe and efficient interaction with machinery and equipment.Align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation.Travel to Municipality site (sometimes multiple sites per day) to attend to or maintain equipment/ infrastructure.Municipality Infrastructure:Water works.Sewerage works.Pump station.Water pipelines.Sewerage lines.Grain Field Chickens Equipment:Holding room.Electrical & mechanical maintenance at Workers Trust’s M5 & Shine Away Chicken Farms.Report machine failure and breakdowns to management, record it on the daily log sheet and ensure job cards are filled in correctly and signed off by production and maintenance.Must have provable working experience in the maintenance of the above-mentioned equipment.Any other required as per Maintenance Manager.Comply with occupational health and safety requirements as per GFC standards and procedures.The company can expire jobs at any time at our own discretion.
