Department Description
DIGITAL ARTS is a strongly interdisciplinary department that offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Interactive Media, Game Design, Digital Animation, and Interactive Storytelling. The department has strong ties with both the contemporary art scene and the creative industries in South Africa. With an emphasis on experimentation and research in both theory and creative practice, Digital Arts is an area of growth, attracting students from South Africa and Africa and the rest of the world.
Brief Description
Digital Arts is recruiting for a fixed-term contract (1 Year – 30%) for a lecturer in Digital Arts Practice
Qualifications and Experience:
* An MA in a relevant field.
* Applicants should have 2-3 years of teaching or industry experience.
* Evidence of research, creative practice, relevant industry experience, and a public profile in the field would also be a distinct advantage.
A suitable candidate should have experience in the following areas:
– UX – Design, thinking, methodologies.
– Storytelling and Interactive Storytelling
– Visual Design and Illustration
Technical Skills:
– Photoshop
– Indesign
Duties:
* Teaching into Digital Art Practice (DAP) 1A & 1B
* Curriculum Design for DAP
* Marking
* Attending Staff Meetings
