BackgroundZeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) is a public not-for-profit institution that exhibits, collects, preserves, and researches contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora; conceives and hosts international exhibitions; develops supporting educational, discursive, and enrichment programmes; encourages intercultural understanding; and strives for access for all.The museum’s galleries feature rotating, temporary exhibitions with dedicated spaces for the permanent collection. The institution also includes the Centre for Art Education (CFAE), and the Atelier, a project space for emerging Cape Town-based artists. Internships OpportunitiesAt Zeitz MOCAA we are passionate about nurturing talent and fostering service excellence within the Arts, Culture and Tourism industry. We are seeking talented and motivated individuals to gain hands-on experience within the Events and Human Resources departments. As an intern, you’ll have the chance to work closely with industry professionals, contributing to projects that supports the strategic objectives of our institution and the wider community.Event Coordination InternThe intern will support and assist with internal and external event coordination and  provide administration, logistics and coordination support for pre, during and post event operations.Provide support with administrative duties including data entry, filing, and documentationAssist with the coordination and completion of all private tour and event related administration Assist with Ensure all relevant internal and external parties are up to date, informed and have a full understanding of the event/tour – Communications, Curatorial, Registrar, Institutional Advancement, Operations, Zeitz MOCAA food, Facilities Management, etc.Support the Events team with the onsite event coordination for after hour events and private tours.Participate in cross-functional meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledgeHuman Resources InternThe intern will provide advanced administrative support to all areas of Human Resources and coordination of HR organisation initiatives.Assist with general documentation and administrationAssist with recruitment, onboarding, and talent development processesProvide support with benefit administrationContribute to the development of training and development initiativesSupport with Employee Wellbeing programsData capturing Requirements for the Internship What you will need:Recent degree or currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Events Management, Hospitality Management, Human Resources/Industrial Psychology, or a related fieldComputer literacy – Word, Excel, PowerPointSouth African citizenStrong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectivelyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Enthusiasm for the tourism and business industries, with a willingness to learn and growAbility to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. What you will gain:Hands-on experience in the dynamic fields of events management and human resources management, working alongside industry professionalsGrow you professional development skills and knowledge through workshops, training sessions, and mentorship opportunitiesDevelop essential skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, contributing to your personal and professional growthEngage with a diverse community of students and professionals, gaining exposure to different perspectives and ideasAs a cutting edge equal opportunity institution, Zeitz MOCAA celebrates diversity in all its forms including gender, race, creed, and orientation.Zeitz MOCAA is committed to Employment Equity and particularly welcomes applications from suitably qualified Historically Disadvantaged Individuals (HDIs) for this position.
