We have an exciting opportunity for HR / Payroll ProfessionalsA company that specializes in Local and International Freight Management and Logistics is currently looking to hire an ethical, self-motivated, and professional HR/Payroll Manager. Key Roles and Responsibilities:Payroll Management Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions including salaries, statutory deductions, benefits, garnishments, and other deductions i.e. loans, AODs, etc.Reconcile benefits to monthly schedules/invoices received.Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.Facilitate HR/Payroll Audits.Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.Submit monthly statutory reports (EMP201 & UIF declarations).Submit bi-annual tax submissions (February and August).Submit STATSSA.AdministrationConduct annual audits on employee files.Ensure all documentation in employees’ files are up to date and saved onto the PEOPLE payroll system.Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and in line with current legislation.Ensure that Provident Fund Membership (Momentum Portal) is accurate and up to date regarding new entrants, terminations, and salary changes.Ensure that Discovery Medical Aid & Vitality Membership is accurate and up to date regarding changes i.e. new entrants, addition/removal of dependents, termination, etc. Liaise with Healthcare Consultants.Ensure that GAP Membership is accurate and up to date regarding changes i.e. new entrants and termination notifications.Ensure that Zurreal Health Card Membership is accurate and up to date i.e. new entrants and termination notifications.Capture Items issued i.e. Zurreal Health CardsScanning & maintaining the HR/Payroll document databaseArchiving of HR DocumentsCapture data regarding Employment Equity and Training into data-gathering spreadsheets. Skills DevelopmentCapture training transactions on the SAGE PEOPLE system as received from the Training Coordinator and Operations Directors.WSP & ATR for Turners Shipping compiled by TTA. Assist with pulling ATR information from PEOPLE for the Training Coordinator.Complete WSP & ATR for FASSET (Turner& Co.)Work closely with the training coordinator to keep track of the training budget.Assist with TETA and ISO 9001 audits. Employee RelationsGuide managers on grievance, attendance, disciplinary, and performance matters and conduct disciplinary inquiries.Represent the organization at externally referred cases, i.e., CCMA. Employment EquityPlan and coordinate employment equity meetings.Create agendas and circulate to committee members.Take minutes and circulate to committee members.Prepare and attend DOL audits. Occupational Health and SafetyEnsure H&S, First Aid and Fire Marshalls certificates are all valid and arrange training when necessary.Plan and Coordinate Fire Drills.Conduct internal audits.Creating policies and or procedures.Plan and coordinate Health & Safety meetings.Create agendas and circulate to committee members.Take minutes and circulate to committee members.Submit IOD Claims.Assist with preparing for audits. Essential Requirements:Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or related qualification 5-10 years experience in Human Resources (which 5 years must be a management role)Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is essential.Advance knowledge of Sage 300 VIP Payroll (People) System Skills and Competencies:Sound knowledge and experience in Sage 300 People HR and Payroll Knowledge in Talent Management, Transformation, Learning and Development, Employee Relations, and Performance Management.Knowledge of all the appropriate Acts (LRA, BCEA, Secretarial determination, OSHA, COID, EEA, SDL)Resolve conflict in the workplace utilizing facilitation and conciliation.Excellent Leadership, Communication, Organisational and Time Management SkillsAbility to work in a highly pressurized environment with strict deadlines.
