Job Description
The Fitter is responsible for the maintenance of plant equipment and optimization of process reliability to ensure maximum availability of the plant equipment and optimal unit cost of production. Key responsibilities will include: Carrying-out inspection, maintenance, and repairs on all mechanical equipment on crushing and conveying systems including but not limited to overhead cranes, skip chutes, apron feeders, vibrating pan feeders, pumps, winches, fans, ventilation doors, water-tight doors, fire systems gears drives, hydraulic systems, distribution pipelines for water and air.Ensuring spares availability.Planning, reviewing, and executing tasks as per planned maintenance system.Must be a self-starter requiring minimal supervision.Liaising with operational staff to plan and execute planned and breakdown maintenance tasks.Conducting root cause analysis on equipment.Assisting in the training and development of Apprentices.Seeking and identifying business improvement initiatives.Performing ad hoc duties as required.Must b willing to work shifts when required.Performing overtime and standby duties when required. Intrinsic Qualities:Good verbal communication skills.Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.Ability to work in a team environment and independently.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to read and interpret drawings.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Must have strong operational support. Qualifications & Experience:Qualified Fitter.Minimum of two years’ experience as a qualified Mechanical Fitter.Exposure in mining maintenance environment.
