Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in KwaZulu-Natal has an opportunity available for a DC Inventory Clerk  to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to achieve operational excellence, within the Dis-Chem Warehouse. Perform clerical functions in the Inventory Department, in order to meet bothlegal and customer requirements and ensure physical stock integrity and accuracy in the warehouse is maintained.Minimum Requirements:Essential:Grade 12 / MatricPrevious experience in a similar rollAdvantageous: 2 Years relevant experience, in a Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain EnvironmentTransport Management or Supply-Chain / Logistics Degree or DiplomaJob Description:Prevent, analyse and interpret all potential departmental shrinkage indicators (adjustments) and act accordinglyEnsure high level responsibilityMaintain a stock rotation on an inventory based on FEFO (first expiry, first out) principleContinuously resolve stock issues and errorsUpdate stock reports as required by managementInterpret and initiate continuous inventory, as well as annual stock countsEnsure accuracy of counts and process the counts according to standard operating procedureEffective and efficient resolution of internal and external customer day-to-day queriesDeal with all aspects of store or customer queriesEffective and efficient relationships with internal customers to improve operating efficienciesEffective direction within the operational team through involvement and communication and sound people practicesEnsure everything, within reason has been done to meet customer expectations and ensure customer satisfactionEnsure optimal planning and forecasting of department resources to meet the day-to-day strategic objectivesEfficient and accurate administration, filling and reporting for transactional excellenceBe responsible for ensuring that good cycle counting is performed on a regular cyclic basisMaintain a high level of accuracy while performing dutiesSpot-check accuracy of counters and take corrective action, with repeat offendersCompetenciesEssential:English – Read, write and speak well Knowledge of Distribution Centre, logistics and supply chain operationsDemonstrates personal initiativeDemonstrates a customer service mindsetDemonstrates an ability to remain calm and focused under pressureDemonstrates an understanding of the necessary leadership principles, values, principles of behaviour and leads by exampleAdvantageous:2nd Additional language.Be able to identify operational obstacles and opportunities and remain calm and focused under pressure.Special conditions of employment:Be able to adapt to working hours according to business needs.Be able to work any shift i.e. day, night, weekends, holidays and overtime as per business and operational requirements.Must be willing to be rotated to where needed and must be willing to perform any other functions within the department, should the need arise.South African citizenMIE, clear criminal and creditDriver’s license and/or own reliable transportRemuneration and benefits:Market related salaryMedical aidProvident fundStaff account ONLY SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED.
