Job Description
The Boilermaker is responsible for maintenance of steel works and optimization of process reliability to ensure maximum availability of the plant equipment and optimal unit cost of production. Key responsibilities will include:Inspection of plant equipment.Maintenance of the general steelworks of the plant.Maintenance and repairs on conveying systems, structures, chutes, bins, and pipes.Fabrication of walkways steelworks.Fabrication of plant pipes systems.Welding of fabricated structures.Ensure spares availability.Planning, reviewing, and executing tasks as per planned maintenance system.Liaising with operational staff to plan and execute planned and breakdown maintenance tasks.Conducting root cause analysis on equipment.Assisting in the training and development of Apprentices.Seeking and identifying business improvement initiatives.Performing ad hoc duties as required.Performing overtime and standby duties when required. Intrinsic Qualities: Must be self-discipline.Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Good communication skills.Must be physical fit to work in the mining environment.Must be safety conscious.Ability to work under pressure.Ability to rea, interpret drawings and to fabricate.Strong operational support. Qualifications & Experience: Qualified BoilermakerValid driver’s license.Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a qualified boilermaker.Exposure in mining maintenance environment.Crushing and conveying experience.
