Job Description

Ivanplats is looking for a Artisan, ElectricianIVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is advancing the development of its world-class palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in the Limpopo Province near Mokopane. This unique mineral deposit will be exploited using large mechanised state-of-the-art underground mining methods, deploying the latest technology to   develop this “mine of the future”. Suitably qualified and experienced candidates are invited to apply for the following vacancies required for the project development.Suitable candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:Trade certificate Qualified electrician Safety and Risk Assessment certificates Electrical skillsLow-voltage knowledge and experience Interpret designs, instructionsExperience with pumps Identify wires accurately Perform electrical tests, read results and diagnose and repair electrical problemsSuitable candidate must have the following work experience:2+ years’ relevant experience as an electrician working across a range of operational environmentsExperience in the mining environment highly advantageousYour successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:Deliver work according to Standard Operating ProceduresReceive work briefs and take direction from Line ManagerEnsure unfinished jobs from previous days are completedUnderstand and apply blueprints and technical diagramsIf required, design a low voltage electrical projectInspect electrical components including transformers and circuit breakersUse testing devices to identify and report electrical problemsUse hand and power toolsAdhere to business, national and local building regulationsInstall circuit boards, outlets and other electrical equipmentTroubleshoot electrical problems and make repairs accordinglyUndertake any urgent repairs as directedReport any required stock/spares/parts to Line Manager and assist in the collection of materialsMaintain a continuous Quality Assurance checking process, ensuring that work being done is satisfactory and completed to quality and standardsMake available finished jobs for inspection and approval by Line ManagerMaintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment at all timesMonitor and control business processes according to quality standards; policy; and compliance and governance requirements in area of accountabilityThe finer details:When applying, please submit a PDF version of your CV together with certified copies (certification within a 3-month period) of your ID/passport, drivers licence and qualifications. Should you not hear from us within 30 days of the closing date please consider your application unsuccessful.
