I&J is proudly South African and invests in, and empowers, the communities in which it operates.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 3rd Engineer responsible for the safety, navigation, cleanliness and operation of a trawler and the total complement on board and who directs fishing operations of the vessel.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:EXPERIENCE:2 Years experience sailing as a 3rd Engineer on Fishing VesselsQUALIFICATIONS:Motorman Grade 2 or Officer in charge of Engineering Watch 750kwCOURSES COMPLETED: Annual MedicalAdvance Fire FightingPSSRCISCMarine Fire FightingMarine First Aid JOB SPECIFICATION:KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:Watch Keeping DutiesAssist Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer in charge of safe running, maintenance and repair of all machinery on the vessel.Assistance in Maintenance& servicing of machinery includes:Main engineAuxiliary engineDeck hydraulic winchesFactory hydraulicsFreon domestic and Refer plantPiano Heading MachineAssist with general housekeeping of all engine compartments.Minor electrical repairs and maintenanceAssist with admin work e.g. log sheets, running hours, work lists.Assist in Supervising of Greasers (x2)
