Universities South Africa (USAf), formerly known as Higher Education South Africa (HESA), is a membership organization that represents all 26 public universities in South Africa. Their mandate is to create an enabling environment for universities to thrive and contribute to the country's social, cultural, and economic development. USAf influences policy positions, advocates for adequate funding, facilitates dialogue among stakeholders, commissions research, and provides valuable services to member institutions.
