National Lotteries Commission (NLC)

The National Lotteries Commission (NLC) is entrusted with the responsibility of regulating and overseeing all lotteries and sports pools in South Africa. With a mission to ensure integrity, protect participants, and maximize revenue for good causes, the NLC plays a vital role in promoting responsible gambling practices. Under the oversight of the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition, the NLC administers the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF), advises on licensing, monitors lotteries, and advises the Minister on various matters related to lotteries and social responsibility programs.
