National Consumer Tribunal (NCT)

The National Consumer Tribunal (NCT) is an independent adjudicative entity established under the National Credit Act. Its primary role is to hear and make decisions on cases involving consumers, service providers, credit providers, debt counsellors, and credit bureaux. Operating under the oversight of the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the dtic), the NCT also reviews decisions made by the National Credit Regulator and the National Consumer Commission. With a focus on consumer protection and fair dispute resolution, the NCT plays a crucial role in upholding consumer rights in the credit industry.
