Mine Health and Safety Council (MHSC)

The Mine Health and Safety Council (MHSC) is a national public entity responsible for improving and promoting occupational health and safety in South African mines. As a tripartite board consisting of state, employer, and labor representatives, the MHSC advises the Minister of Mineral Resources on legislation and research outcomes related to mine safety. It serves as a trusted advisor to the mining industry and is currently implementing a Centre of Excellence to further enhance its impact on occupational health and safety.
