The Independent Development Trust (IDT) is a state-owned entity responsible for managing and delivering integrated social infrastructure programs on behalf of the South African government. With a mission to prioritize timely and cost-effective implementation, the IDT focuses on people-centered approaches. Reporting to the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, the IDT has successfully delivered approximately R27.4 billion worth of social infrastructure and development programs across the country, supporting education, housing, health services, and business development in previously disadvantaged areas.
