Community Schemes Ombud Service (CSOS)

The Community Schemes Ombud Service (CSOS) was established to regulate and ensure good governance within community schemes, such as sectional title, homeowners' associations, and housing cooperatives. Its mandate includes quality assurance of scheme governance documentation, providing a dispute resolution service, conducting training for CSOS employees, and preserving public access to scheme governance documentation. The CSOS operates under the oversight of the Department of Human Settlements (DHS) and plays a crucial role in promoting fair and harmonious living arrangements within community schemes.
