Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA)

The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration (CCMA) is committed to becoming a world-class institution that promotes labor market stability, social justice, and job security. Its mandatory functions include conciliating and arbitrating workplace disputes, facilitating the establishment of workplace forums and statutory councils, and compiling information and statistics about its activities. The CCMA also has discretionary functions, such as providing training on employment law, advising parties on dispute procedures, and publishing guidelines on aspects of the Labor Relations Act. It operates under the oversight of the Department of Employment and Labour (DEL).
