The African Renaissance and International Cooperation Fund (ARF) envisions a democratic, non-racial, and conflict-free African continent, striving for South Africa's national interests and values. The ARF follows the principles of aid effectiveness and emphasizes recipient country ownership, understanding of political and economic factors, and needs assessment. Aligned with the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) values, the ARF aims to enhance cooperation, promote democracy and good governance, address socio-economic development, and provide humanitarian assistance and human resource development, while working closely with the overseeing entity, the Department of International Relations and Cooperation.
