Accounting Standards Board (ASB)

The Accounting Standards Board (ASB) plays a crucial role in promoting financial reporting standards in the public sector. Their mission is to set Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) standards and provide guidance for the reporting of financial and performance information. With oversight from the National Treasury, the ASB determines standards, issues directives, and recommends implementation dates, all aimed at advancing financial reporting in the public sector and serving the public interest.
