National Council of Provinces (NCOP)

The National Council of Provinces (NCOP) is an essential component of South Africa's Parliament, representing provincial interests at the national level. With a constitutional mandate to ensure effective cooperation and intergovernmental relations, the NCOP facilitates the harmonious functioning of the three spheres of government. By actively participating in the legislative process and providing a national platform for discussing provincial concerns, the NCOP promotes the principles of Cooperative Government and ensures a balanced distribution of powers among the various government entities.
