Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA)

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) is dedicated to ensuring that all South Africans have affordable access to a diverse range of high-quality communication services. With strategic objectives aligned with the government's Outcomes-Based Approach, ICASA aims to increase broadband spectrum access, protect consumers from harmful practices, promote competition and diversity in broadcasting and electronic communications sectors, reduce barriers to entry in the broadband market, and enhance the utilization of spectrum, among other goals. Operating under the oversight of the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT), ICASA plays a vital role in promoting equitable coverage, consumer participation, and transformation within the ICT sector.
