GROUNDSMAN POSITION AVAILABLE AT THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE

The Department of Agriculture announces an opportunity for a Groundsman vacancy at Buffaloport, North West. REQUIREMENTS

1. Applicants must hold NQF level 1 or 2 (Adult Basic Education and Training (Abet) level 2 / 3 certificates).
2. No experience is required.
3. Job related skills: Basic numeracy skills.

DUTIES

Appointed Groundsman will perform a variety of tasks including:

• Irrigation and watering of plants/lawns
• Weeding, pruning, and trimming of plants
• Seeding, transplanting and maintaining lawn
• Disposing of organic waste, maintaining flower beds, spraying and digging
• Performing general maintenance of infrastructure: cleaning signs, light fittings, etc.
• Sweeping and laying cement for walkways and driveways
• Unblocking drains and cleaning waste bins
• Cleaning and maintaining roads, pavements, and greenhouses
• Handling furniture and minor repairs
