Essential Requirements

  • Grade 07 or ABET Level 3.
  • Basic reading and writing abilities.
  • No prior work experience.
  • Physically sound and in a good health condition.
  • Willingness to work shifts wherever necessary.
  • Ability to bend, kneel and execute physical labour.
  • Possess good eyesight and physical fitness.
  • Prepared to work in restrictive spaces and elevated heights.
  • First Aid, Plant operation, chlorine usage, water testing, and fire extinguisher knowledge.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Assist with the erection, installation and maintenance of infrastructure.
  2. Perform general maintenance activities.
  3. Assist with the appropriate handling of chemicals.
  4. Digging holes and trenches for the required work purposes.
  5. Load and unload materials, chemicals, and equipment.
  6. Care for tools and equipment.
  7. Responsible for general housekeeping of plant, site and offices.
  8. Comply with Occupation Health and Safety regulations
  9. Carry out general cleaning of municipal premises.
  10. Grass cutting and cleaning of grounds.
  11. Perform general maintenance of museums using traditional methods.
  12. Collect and load waste into trucks and clean public areas.
  13. Bottle drinking water.
  14. Verbally report the condition of tools to the immediate superior.

Additional Conditions

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Exposure to high voltage systems.
  • Must understand basic English.
  • Availability to work outside normal working hours during emergencies and planned overtime.
  • Ability to work without constant supervision and under pressure.
