Exciting Job Opportunity: Heavy Duty Drivers’ Positions at ERI

We at ERI are inviting applications for the challenging, yet rewarding role as one of our three (3) heavy duty drivers. This position resides in our operations, and brokerage department located in Brackenfell, Cape Town, South Africa. Your role as a Heavy Duty Driver entails ensuring that goods and materials’ transportation adheres to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Prerequisites for the Position

• Education: Successful completion of Matric (Grade 12).
• Licenses: A current, Un-Endorsed Code 14 Driver’s Licence and Public Drivers Permit (PDP).
• Credentials: Valid Crane Operator Certificate.
• Experience: 3 years of experience in inter-link and tri-axle driving, and 2 years with other vehicles including trucks with Hydraulic Mounted Cranes. Knowledge of long and short haul driving is essential.

Key Competencies and Skills

As a potential candidate, you should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with an innovative and team-oriented mindset. An outstanding level of organization and customer service would be beneficial. Literacy and comprehensive knowledge of defensive driving, occupational health and safety, and quality control systems are also advantages.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Performing routine vehicle maintenance checks.
2. Supervising the loading and offloading of materials.
3. Formulating transport and delivery notes.
4. Maintaining safe transportation, collection, and delivery of materials.
5. Securing material items utilizing correct lashing and securing techniques.
