EPWP Brush Cutter Operator Vacancy in Midvaal Local Municipality

Looking for an opportunity to contribute to your local community’s beautification? The Midvaal Local Municipality is seeking a qualified and committed individual to fill the position of an EPWP Brush Cutter Operator in the Parks Section. This full-time, fixed-term contract offers a salary of R153.62 per day, conforming to the EPWP daily rate. The deadline for application submissions is 12:00 on the 20th of February 2024.

Job Requirements:

A minimum of Grade 10 education is required for this role. However, completion of Grade 12 education is recommended. Holding a valid driver’s license serves as an additional benefit. Fluency in bilingual languages coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills holds priority.
Candidates from within the Midvaal area are favoured. The role requires the individual to be in good physical health capable of enduring physical labor.
Prior experience of at least one year as a brush/bush cutter machine operator within a Local Government Authority would be desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary duties of this role include grass cutting and area cleaning as per schedule, maintaining sports fields, flowerbeds, pavements and other areas using garden tools and machinery. Proficient and safe usage of brush cutter machines and other equipment is expected.
Rubble and garden refuse removal from public spaces, and placing traffic signs during roadside work for safety are also part of the job responsibilities. Seasonal duties may include winter treatment of sports fields and maintenance of municipal facilities including parks, cemeteries, clinics, libraries, and sports centers.
