Purpose of the Job:As a Software Developer at SITA, you will be responsible for designing, installing, testing, maintaining, and enhancing software systems.Your primary objective will be to code individual programs in accordance with ICT standards and government enterprise architecture.Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Developing and designing software to optimize operational efficiency using SITA’s software development stack/framework.
  • Coordinating software system installations and monitoring equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.
  • Producing detailed specifications and writing program codes.
  • Maintaining integrated IT software components systems once operational.
  • Developing integrated Technical Service Specifications for software components.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum: Matric with 6-8 years’ experience in Cobol/IMS programming.
  • Experience: 6-8 years’ experience in Cobol/IMS programming.

Technical Competencies Description:

  • Strong understanding of computer science, including algorithms, data structures, operating systems, and databases.
  • Knowledge of various tools and techniques for identifying functional requirements of software.
  • Familiarity with governance frameworks like Cobit and ITIL.
  • Proficiency in software development methodologies (e.g., RUP, Agile).
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience with major programming languages like COBOL.
  • Proficiency in database systems like CA-DATACOM.
  • Strong team-working experience.
