SRD Grant:

- Unemployed with monthly income below R624
- Not receiving other grants
Child Support Grant:
- Primary caregiver of a child under 18
- Single applicants: Earn under R5,000/month
- Married applicants: Combined income under R10,000/month

Application Process
Step 1: Choose Application Method

Step 2: Prepare Documents
- ID book/card or refugee permit
- Recent proof of address (not older than 3 months)
- Bank statements (last 3 months)
- Child’s birth certificate (for child grants)
Step 3: Submit Application
Provide accurate details during submission. In-person applicants undergo fingerprint verification.
Step 4: Track Your Application
You’ll receive a reference number. Use it to check status via SMS (082 046 8553) or SASSA’s portal.
Processing Times

3. Cash Collection Points

Appeals Process
