Who Are We Looking For?

Grade 1 Officer Grade 3 Officer
Successful completion of an appropriate Basic Life Support (BLS) course that allows registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa as a Basic Ambulance (BAA) Successful completion of an appropriate Intermediate Life Support (ILS) course that allows registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa as an Ambulance Emergency Assistant
No experience needed after registration with the HPCA as Basic Ambulance Assistant No experience needed after registration with the HPCSA as an Ambulance Emergency Assistant

Job Descriptions:

  • By being our Emergency Care Officer, you will be responsible for the treatment of the patient within the scope of practice of Basic Ambulance Assistant.
  • Transport patients as part of Planned Patient Transport and inter-facility transfer system under Emergency Medical Services.
  • Provide emergency medical care and related assistance during special events.
  • Be in charge of the care and proper of Emergency Medical Services resources.
  • Carry out emergency medical assistance and other duties required by Directorate. Accept any additional responsibilities as delegated by your supervisor.
  • Candidates must be willing to work in shifts.
  • Applicants will also be expected to undergo physical and medical surveillance.
