About the Role
Lead production operations at Volvo’s Durban plant while championing safety, quality, and efficiency. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and manage a team of 140+ employees in final truck assembly operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure achievement of SQCDEP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Environment, People) targets
- Develop leadership team through coaching and competency development programs
- Implement lean manufacturing principles through Volvo Performance System
- Manage industrial relations with NUMSA union representatives
- Oversee compliance with OHSA and other manufacturing regulations
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Operations Management (NQF 6/7)
- 10+ years automotive manufacturing experience
- 5+ years senior leadership experience
- Proven IR/HR management skills
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles
