Fire Fighter Trainee: Vacancy Announced by Ubuhlebezwe Municipality

The Ubuhlebezwe Municipality is extending a warm invitation for competent candidates to file their applications for the Fire Fighter Trainee Vacancy. Essential Competencies

  • Grade 12
  • Fire Fighter I and II Certificates
  • A Valid First Aid Level III or BAAA
  • Code C1 ‘s license
  • Medical Certificate of Fitness
  • Maximum age limit: 35 years
  • No Criminal past or ongoing cases
  • Bilingual – English and Isizulu
  • Disaster Qualification
  • Physically fit and able-bodied
  • May be subjected to a fitness test

Key Performance Areas

The selected candidate will be expected to:

  • Swiftly respond to fire alerts.
  • Engage in emergency medical and hazardous material incidents.
  • Test and maintain fire fighting and medical equipment.
  • Perform administrative duties which includes preparing incident reports and tracking equipment defects.
  • Care for and maintain all assets under the fire department.
  • Conduct fire safety inspections.
  • Adhere to all statutory legislations and Council policies/procedures/standards to guarantee optimum management of fire fighting.
  • Ensure personal and public safety during fire incidents, striving to save lives and properties.
