Job Purpose:
BOC seeks 5 proactive individuals to ensure safe train operations and exceptional passenger service on the Gautrain system. Successful candidates will play a vital role in maintaining safety standards and enhancing commuter experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute safe train operations in compliance with safety regulations
- Assist drivers with operational and safety procedures
- Conduct passenger ticket validations and fare inspections
- Provide excellent customer service and journey information
- Ensure passenger safety during boarding/alighting and emergencies
- Participate in incident investigations and reporting
- Maintain security throughout train carriages
Candidate Requirements:
- Valid Grade 12/NQF Level 4 Certificate
- Code B driver’s license or higher
- Minimum 2 years’ customer service experience
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
- Successful completion of medical and psychological assessments
Essential Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Adaptability to rotating shifts (including weekends/holidays)
- Problem-solving in high-pressure situations
- Attention to safety protocols and detail
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Comfort working in moving train environments
- Capability to lift up to 20kg when required
Working Conditions:
- Shift work covering 24/7 operations
- Environment: Rail carriages and station platforms
- Uniform provided with safety equipment
