Thembelihle Municipality invites motivated candidates to apply for our Electrical Engineering Internship program. This 12-month contract position offers valuable hands-on experience in municipal technical services operations.
Position Information:
- Monthly Stipend: R10,000
- Benefits: Leave entitlements
- Location: Technical Services Directorate, Head Office (Hopetown)

Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification
- Valid driver’s license (Code B)
- Strong technical communication skills
- South African citizenship
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning and coordination of Energy Efficiency Demand Side Management (EEDSM) projects
- Collect and analyze energy consumption data sets
- Support development of energy efficiency improvement strategies
- Prepare technical specifications for energy-efficient equipment
- Create detailed project reports with findings and recommendations
- Coordinate with contractors and municipal teams on project implementation
- Assist with electrical infrastructure installation including:
- Cable laying and conductor preparation
- Pole erection and transformer installation
- Electrical termination and connection work
- Maintain strict adherence to electrical safety standards
