Enterprise Architecture Manager
South African Tourism has an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise Architecture Manager at our Head Office in South Africa. This role is within our Digital and Technology (DigiTech) business unit. Purpose of the Role
The Enterprise Architecture Manager drives operational efficiency through careful planning, development, implementation, and support of technology and system/application architecture. This includes analyzing business requirements, building and maintaining business systems and technology (including digital platforms), and managing projects.
Key Performance Areas
Functional Integration of Business Solutions Across Multiple Domains
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of the system and technology architecture repository.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of application/systems and technology architecture models.
- Analyze and choose standards, industry-recognized methodologies, and tools for designing and managing processes.
- Review the DigiTech strategy to ensure it aligns with the overall business strategy and understand its impact on enterprise architecture.
- Lead repeatable strategy, architecture, roadmap, and planning workshops, and identify quick wins.
- Conduct detailed discovery analysis.
- Act as the subject matter expert on enterprise systems for configuration, customization, and usage to maximize end-user adoption.
- Review, analyze, and develop cost-effective and efficient solutions that meet user and business requirements.
- Identify system priorities and schedules that reduce business and system risks.
- Identify and monitor opportunities for system integration and initiatives.
- Apply revisions, upgrades, and performance reviews to enterprise software.
Solution Analysis, Design, and Impact Management
- Ensure adherence to adopted methodologies or frameworks for implementing business solutions.
- Develop and maintain business process and system documentation and workflows to support process improvements enabled by information technology.
- Formulate alternative system solutions to achieve overall business objectives.
- Develop plans for new system implementations, custom scripts, and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability, high availability, and system security for enterprise services.
- Establish guidelines and methods for installing and managing the host environment and client tools.
- Develop procedures and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and applications, as well as Disaster Recovery/Continuity of Operations (DR/COOP) capabilities.
- Develop tools, procedures, and training sessions for operations and other customer support organizations.
- Design and update operational reports based on information needs.
Improving Process Efficiency and Operations Productivity
- Stay up to date with technological developments and recommend ways to use new advancements.
- Identify methods and solutions, and provide project leadership and management to deliver high-quality service to SA Tourism staff and management.
- Ensure system security across enterprise application services, including contributing to security best practices.
- Create business partnerships through services aligned with technology developments in the DigiTech and tourism industries.
- Ensure good system availability.
- Prepare periodical reports and make presentations as required.
- Support change management initiatives for business systems.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science.
- TOGAF Certificate.
- Project Management Certification.
- MIS/Business Intelligence Qualification is an added advantage.
- 6 years of experience in Systems Architecture.
- 6 years of expertise in ICT services management, Business Analysis, and Business Process Improvement.
- 4-5 years of expertise in System Design.
- 3-6 years of knowledge in Change Management.
- Strong awareness of technology products.
- 3-6 years of experience in Database Architecture.
- 3-6 years of experience in Enterprise Security Architecture.
- 3-6 years of expertise in Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing.

Trade Training Specialist – United Kingdom
South African Tourism has an exciting opportunity for a Trade Training Specialist in our UK office in Central London. If you are passionate about South Africa, travel, and tourism, and you have the required qualifications and skills, we invite you to apply.
This role is key in managing communication with frontline travel trade professionals, leading training initiatives, coordinating familiarization trips, and representing South African Tourism at important industry events.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Operational Performance (60%)
- Coordinate communications with travel trade via digital and social platforms.
- Develop and implement trade training strategy and roll-out plans.
- Co-develop market-specific training materials (online and face-to-face).
- Design and deliver training presentations and resources.
- Monitor post-training performance and provide follow-up support.
- Represent SA Tourism at travel shows, workshops, and events.
- Present at trade sales seminars, consumer shows, and workshops.
- Execute trade engagement plans and collaborate with leadership.
- Build and leverage trade relationships to enhance brand awareness.
- Plan, lead, and evaluate return on investment (ROI) for hosted familiarization (FAM) trips to South Africa as part of training programs. Manage SAT-owned training events.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication (10%)
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders in South Africa and the UK.
- Collaborate with provincial tourism authorities and trade partners.
- Provide advisory support to business unit heads and marketing teams.
- Foster partnerships with representation companies and industry players.
General Participation (10%)
- Operate within delegated authorizations and SA Tourism values.
- Prepare monthly reports and participate in governance structures.
- Support implementation of management decisions.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum: A-Level standard or equivalent.
- Preferred: Diploma or tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience within the UK Travel Trade Landscape.
- Competent with Microsoft Office suite, social media, CRM systems, and able to learn other online platforms.
- Full UK driving license is essential for travel to events and trade shows.
- Permission to work in the United Kingdom via passport or visa; SA Tourism does not offer Work Permit Sponsorship.

Purpose of the Role
The Digital Channel Manager will shape, execute, and scale South African Tourism’s digital marketing and app strategies to drive measurable brand growth, audience engagement, and lead conversions. This position reports directly to the General Manager: Brand and Marketing and works closely with cross-functional teams, tourism partners, technology providers, and agencies to deliver integrated, high-impact digital marketing campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the digital ecosystem: Oversee SA Tourism’s owned digital platforms, including the website, social media platforms, and the South African Tourism App, ensuring a seamless, world-class user experience.
- App growth & engagement:
- Lead app marketing and growth strategies (organic and paid).
- Drive acquisition, retention, and engagement through personalized content, push notifications, loyalty features, and gamification.
- Integrate app journeys into broader campaign strategies.
- Innovation & technology adoption: Identify and integrate emerging technologies (e.g., AI personalization, predictive targeting, automation) to enhance user journeys across app, web, and social media.
- Data intelligence & reporting:
- Develop advanced analytics frameworks.
- Track and optimize performance across all channels in real time.

- Channel strategy: Execute holistic strategies for SEO, SEM, display, paid social, influencer amplification, and app promotion to deliver against KPIs.
